I really need to...

Start focusing more on my photography. If I were to pick a second career choice I would most definitely pick either a Natural Geographic photojournalist, Wedding Photographer, or anything involving photography really. I genuinely love photography & all the ways it can make you feel. Even though I probably won't make a career of it,  when I have a family of my own one day I hope to capture moments like these...

This little lady is my favorite.  :)

Just a little blurb about the beauty of a picture. (credit given to pinterest) Doesn't this picture just make you happy? More of my own soon to come.

A flowerful Sunday!

Today I was inspired to create my own potted garden! I drove myself to lowes and picked up a few bags of potting soil and carted up and down the isles until I found the perfect combination.

I chose hot pink Dahlias, pink/yellow Gerber Daisys & bright orange Impatience!

I also made an herb garden consisting of Rosemary, Sweet Basil & Flat Italian Parsley. I can't wait to use these when I cook!

While I decorated my patio with all the new flowers, Brody hid out under the chairs and just relaxed. It was a fun sunday afternoon project.
What a sweet boy!

this weekend you can find me...

I'm so looking forward to this weekend.  For starters, tonight is date night. I spent today packing {moving out of my apartment in 15 days!} and made sure to iron our goin out clothes for tonight. A night out with Nash is just what I need! We haven't had sushi in a while, so we're going to TASU SUSHI at crossroads! We usually choose the sweet dragon roll, bagel roll, insane eel roll & sumo roll. I don't have it memorized or anything...

After dinner we have a movie date at Raleighwood Cinema & Grill. We've never been here before, but the seats look like they have a little tray in front of you for eating! They also serve beer & wine while watching the movie. We're thinking a few glasses of wine while watching 21 Jumpstreet sounds just right

Tomorrow, Mom & I are taking a trip to Campbell University, my soon to be home come August 1st.  Not only do I need to secure some roommates but I need to find a house! We are planning to spend Saturday driving through campus and nearby towns to see what little gems we can find. I haven't been back since my interview, so it'll be relaxing, fun & exciting! (Nash and I may hit up the driving range when I return on Saturday. Thanks to dad for the new clubs!)

Yes, I will be a Campbell Camel! PA class of 2014! ;)

And on Sunday.... Nash and I plan to run the 6 mile loop at Lake Johnson. Should be interesting & tough - but we're in training for our 5K Ninja Challenge on June 9th! Then we want to plant our own herb garden, a trip to the farmers market should give us what we need.

To end the weekend, we have reservations for an early dinner on Sunday at The Angus Barn to celebrate our two year anniversary. Never been before...EXCITED!

bachelorette bash!

My best friend/roommate Jenn is getting married this June! We took a 4 day trip to Charleston to celebrate her BACHELORETTE party and rented a quaint blue house one block from the beach. We spent hours on the beach getting way too tan, drinking too many drinks & having too much fun.

Friday night we went out to dinner at Blossoms for some wonderful seafood, then to Wet Willies and Wild Wings for live music, drinks & a good time.

Saturday night/Cinco de mayo we went NUTS. Keep in mind this is Jenn's favorite holiday so festivities began at 9 am and didn't end until Sunday at 3:30 am. Due to having too much fun on the beach, we skipped the fancy dinner out and stuck to frozen pizzas and mac & cheese. Rooftop and Wet Willies treated us well!

We created "Jenn's Bachelorette To-Do List" that contained some pretty crazy items that shall remain unspoken ;). One of them, however, was to hop on the back of a Harley. Check.

Jenn's bachelorette party was a success; full of laughs, cries (yes...this means you Sarah!), and all things in between. WE SURVIVED, good job girls :)!

Things I had to mention: I'm just not coooool, dog cries, expressions, Is your name matt!, married bar fights?, crotch pictures?, t.p. rationing, bar napkins,  orchestras. :)

my birthday adventure.

My birthday weekend was amazing. From family dinners, to surprises from good friends, a few drinks & outdoor adventures; it was truly the best.

Alli, Sean, Nash & I decided to spend our Saturday out for a nice breakfast at the Farmers Market, then went for a walk through the actual market. We spent about 30 minutes looking and smelling all the wonderful flowers. While Alli and I oohed and awed at the rose bushes, geraniums and blueberry bushes, the boys found their way to the exotic cacti and venus fly traps, such men.

After that we went canoeing on Lake Wheeler. While we were out in the middle of the lake we were drenched by a rain storm. It was the funniest, happiest part of my day.

Such a cutie :)
Can you see the rain starting?

In sync.
We played a little bit of bumper boats!
My sweet little man & I at my birthday dinner.
Overall, I had a wonderful time with wonderful people. I'm a lucky gal!
PS. Thanks to my wonderful boyfriend -- these pictures were taken with my new nikon camera :)
